Introduction

The HKMA Global Centre for Youth Development welcomes students to the enriching world of the Cambridge Summer Programmes, where academic excellence meets unparalleled cultural experiences. Immerse yourself in a transformative journey of learning and discovery amidst the prestigious Cambridge University setting.

Cambridge Programmes, established in 2004, receive over 200 secondary school students from across the globe every year.


The Programme

Cambridge Programmes offer a diverse range of best-in-class academic experiences to help foster a passion for learning for aspirational students looking towards university and beyond. The two-week summer programme will offer a diverse range of specialized courses for exceptional students.

  • Distinguished teaching staff and strong management team, hailing from the University and renowned academic institutions in Cambridge
  • Cambridge students to serve as Mentors and provide additional tutoring and activities
  • A holistic programme blending cultural visits and learning activities outside classrooms

Academic English and Literature (for ages 14+)

The Academic English Programme focuses on developing the four key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, ensuring that you will be a better all-round communicator in English after the Programme.

History (ages 14-17)

The History Programme is broad-based and allows participants to develop their historical knowledge and research skills as well as analytical and presentation skills.

Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) (ages 15-17)

This programme is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of Engineering and to give them insights into its applications in the real world.

Law Induction (ages 15 – 17)

The Law Induction Programme offers an overview of the common and civil law legal systems and an introduction to the subjects of constitutional law, contract law, tort law and criminal law.

Medicine (ages 16+)

The Programme is intensive and gives students of the highest calibre an immensely educational and enjoyable experience. Each student will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the Programme.

Cambridge Programmes and Teaching Staff

All teaching staff are drawn either from the University of Cambridge or top UK independent schools. The staff are carefully selected to reflect both their subject expertise and their ability and experience in communicating effectively with students whose first language may not be English.

Cambridge Programmes is unique in its brilliant Mentoring system. Each Mentor looks after, on average, only six participants. The mentors are academically brilliant, who are Cambridge-educated graduates and undergraduates and will teach and arrange educational and fun activities for our participants over the two weeks.

Accommodation and Facilities

Accommodation will be arranged at the Churchill College, one of the 31 Colleges which make up the University of Cambridge.

Students will reside over the two weeks in Churchill College. All rooms are single, some with en-suite facilities and provide comfortable living accommodation. Boys and girls are on separate staircases with security entry.

Meals are prepared in the College Kitchen, and students eat in the dining hall where members of the College normally take their meals.

There is on-site security 24/7 during the stay at Churchill.

The Programme Fee is inclusive of accommodation in a college of University of Cambridge, breakfasts and meals as described in the Programme Schedule. Participants are responsible for arranging their return air tickets to and from the UK and round-trip airport transfers.
