The HKMA 36th Susan Yuen Memorial Lecture cum Award for Excellence in Training and Development 2021

Organized by the Hong Kong Management Association’s Theme Year Working Party since 1985, the Susan Yuen Memorial Lecture is one of the highlights of the Association’s whole year activities aiming to recognize the contribution of the late Mrs Susan Yuen to Hong Kong’s business community. The Guest of Honour of the occasion, the Honourable Wong Kam sing, Secretary for the Environment The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, delivered a speech on “Embracing the Next Normal” on Monday, 11 October 2021 at the 36 the Susan Yuen Memorial Lecture at the JW Marriott Hotel.

The Presentation Ceremony of the Award for Excellence in Training and Development 2021 was also held during the occasion. The Award aims to give public recognition to trainers and their companies for achievements and contributions that training and development can bring to corporate results. Winners of Campaign and Individual Awards were presented with trophies and certificates by Dr Y K Pang, Chai rman of the Association; Dr Roy Chung, Ir Alkin Kwong, Prof Randy Lai, Mr Stephen Leung and Mr Kent Wong , Council Members of the Association. A total of 22 organizations and trainers were recognized based on a comprehensive set of judging criteria that covers objective setting, design and implementation, measurement and outcome, innovation as well as other aspects such as agility.

Dr Y K Pang said “As the new normal calls for a new set of skills and qualities, businesses must ensure that their workforce are ready for the challenges ahead. To stay competitive, companies should invest in training and development in order to future proof its most important asset people.”

Going forward, the Award will continue to promote best practices in Training and Development as well as the continuous advancement of the industry in Hong Kong and the Region.
