Dr Sunny Chai SBS BBS JP, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, served as the Guest of Honour to kick off the morning session of this extraordinary event. The management and industry leaders of multiple multinational corporations and local brands jointly explored the latest developments in the innovative technology industry and business strategies. On the same day, the finals of the “HKMA/HKT
Global Innovation Awards 2025/26” were also held, to recognize businesses and organizations from all sectors, for outstanding achievements in innovation.

In his welcome speech, Prof Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges GBS JP, Chairperson of The Hong Kong Management Association, said, “In line with the National 14th Five-Year Plan, HKMA successfully launched the HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award in 2022, and the HKMA Global Innovation Day in 2023. Today, on behalf of HKMA, I am delighted and honoured to welcome you all to the third edition of this important event.” He highlighted that the event has grown into a signature platform drawing in more than 3,000 participants to connect and collaborate. Prof Engelbrecht-Bresges also announced the official launch of the HKMA AI Empowerment Centre, underscoring the Association’s commitment to equipping business leaders with critical AI competencies in alignment with the national “AI + Industry” and “AI Training for All” dual-track strategies.

The launching ceremony featured opening remarks by Prof Herbert Chia JP, Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the HKMA AI Empowerment Centre, who stated, “Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping business models and day-to-day operations. As organizations embed AI into their strategies and core functions, the need for professionals who can lead, apply, and deliver measurable value is growing.”

He added, “Our mission is clear: to serve as a focal point for capacity building across the economy, from board members and senior executives to management professionals and the wider workforce. Through training, experience sharing and high-quality networking, we will grow Hong Kong’s pool of AI talent and help businesses of all sizes embark on and accelerate their AI journeys.” To meet the rising demand for AI literacy, he highlighted the establishment of structured learning pathways organized into six tracks: Executive AI Leadership; Builder & Automation; Productivity & Workplace Adoption; Functional Business; Data Analytics; and Creative AI. These tracks provide a clear progression for participants to translate their knowledge into real business outcomes.
