Overview

This programme will give you a glimpse of what it’s like to be a lawyer. You will have a chance to talk to legal professionals and professors and find out about related careers.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the programme, you will:

  • Understand the English and HK Legal Systems
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a barrister / solicitor
  • Understand career opportunities in the law industry

Day 1: Welcome & Induction Session

  • Welcome Remarks & Programme Introduction
  • Introduction to the English and Hong Kong Legal Systems
  • Courts Structure

Day 2: Court Visit & Interactive activities

  • Court Visit – Open Court
  • Interactive Session: Barristers within Chambers on a Day in the Life of a Barrister / Solicitor

Day 3: Court Visit

  • Court Visit- Guided Tour CFA

Day 4: Lecture & Sharing Session

  • Introduction to Private Law, Including Music and Sports Law
  • Sharing Session: Guest Talk by a Legal Specialist

Day 5: Lecture

  • Introduction to Criminal Law & Mooting
  • Lecture: How to prepare your Law School Application
  • Tips on Writing Personal Statements / Interviewing
