Overview

Over the years, with GDPR, PIPL and PDPO now in force, data protection & privacy law have become a necessity compliance focus and portfolio for Hong Kong businesses. In this workshop, we will be providing you with an overview of the major data protection regulatory regimes, such as, GDPR, PIPL and PDPO and their main compliance obligations & requirements.

We will also be covering some practical tools, such as, drafting data processing agreement (DPA), performing privacy impact assessment (PIA), designing privacy policy for businesses and designing data breach response planning, to name a few. We will also be covering specific topics such as, cross-border data transfer (CBDT), data breach notification law, as well as examining some of the current topics, such as, Hong Kong’s Recommended Model Clauses (RMCs) and the new Greater Bay Area Standard Contract (GBA SCC) and China’s data protection developments, such as the interaction between Cybersecurity Law (CSL), Data Security Law (DSL) and Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL)
