Cryptocurrency, NFTs and Metaverse: An Overview of the Legal and Regulatory Issues in Hong Kong

Cryptocurrency and virtual assets are becoming more and more prominent in global financial markets and Hong Kong is no exception. This workshop will provide an overview of the present regulatory and governmental stance in relation to cryptocurrency and virtual assets in Hong Kong. It will also examine some of the legal issues in relation to cryptocurrency and virtual assets. The workshop will also cover specific topics, such as crypto-assets and tax, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and antimoney laundering (AML) requirements. Last but not least, it will touch on the topic of Metaverse and the legal issues relating to it.
