2024 HKMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON “Hong Kong’s New Horizon”

The 2024 HKMA Annual Conference was successfully held on 29 November 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with over 2,000 participants joining physically and online. The Conference brought together prominent business leaders who shared with participants their invaluable insight under the theme of “Hong Kong’s New Horizon”. Mr Carlson Tong, Chairman, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited delivered an opening keynote speech while the closing keynote speech was delivered by The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan GBM GBS JP, Chairman, Asia Financial Holdings Limited.

Prof Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges GBS JP, Chairman of The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) said in the welcoming address “Maintaining competitiveness in the global market is vital for Hong Kong as an international financial center. Leveraging the transformative power of technology and integrating innovative solutions are crucial for driving economic growth and sustaining our prominence on the world stage. A commitment to sustainable business models that balance economic advancement with social and environmental responsibility is essential for our future.”

Prof Mary Huen JP, Chairman of the 2024 HKMA Annual Conference Organizing Committee and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong and Greater China & North Asia, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd said in her opening remarks that, “I am confident that today will be both productive and inspiring as you engage with the valuable insights shared by our esteemed speakers and panelists. I encourage everyone to actively participate in the discussions, seize the opportunity to learn from one another, and cultivate meaningful connections that will contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Hong Kong.”

The Presentation of AMD Professors of Practice was also held at the Conference. The three new Professors of Practice this year are:

  2. Dr Jacob Kam JP, Chief Executive Officer, MTR Corporation Limited
  3. Mr Li Ning, Executive Chairman and Joint Chief Executive Officer, Li Ning Group

Afterwards, the Signing Ceremony on Strategic Partnership between The Hong Kong Management Association and the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association was also held at the Conference.
