Industry elites gather to explore innovation trends
“Global Innovation Award” recognizes outstanding achievements in corporate innovation
The second “Global Innovation Day 2025” was officially concluded at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday 23 January 2025, attracting over 1,500 participants from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas countries and regions. Mr Simon Chan Sai-ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited Management Company Limited served as the Guest of Guest of Honour to kick off the morning session of this extraordinary event. The management and industry leaders of multiple multinational corporations and local brands jointly explored the latest developments in the innovative technology industry and business strategies. On the same day, the finals and announcement of the winners of the “HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Awards 2024/25” were also held, to recognize businesses and organizations from all sectors, for outstanding achievements in innovation.
In his welcome speech, Prof Winfried Engelbrecht Bresges , Chairman of the Hong Kong Management Association said, “ This year is especially significant as we celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Management Association. I am very proud to welcome everyone to the second edition of this important event. The finalists of the HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award will present their best practices, showcasing their innovative contributions.
In order to support Hong Kong’s development as an international innovation and technology center in accordance with the national “14th Five Year Plan”, the Hong Kong Management Association was proud to launch the HKMA Glob al Innovation Award since 2022/23 to recognize outstanding achievements in innovation across various industries and sectors. Since the launch of the award, the response from the industry has been enthusiastic Over 270 entries were received for the “HKMA/H KT Global Innovation Awards 2024/25”, including Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan and overseas economies such as Pakistan, Singapore, and USA . Representatives from the 30 shortlisted institutions delivered final presentations this morning, showcasing positive, long term, and sustainable solutions with significant impact in innovation products, services, technologies, practices, and processes.processes.
In the afternoon, the award ceremony and innovation summit were held, with several guests conducting thematic discussions and announcing the results of the finals. Before the start of innovation summit, Prof Randy Lai , Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Management Association , delivered the welcome speech and introduced the Keynote Speaker, Professor Susanna Hui MH, Executive Direct or and Group Managing Director, HKT Ltd, who shared on the rise of generative AI technology.
The Innovation Summit, centred around diverse themes including Digital Transformation, Global, Culture and AI was divided into four thematic breakout sessions and featured a distinguished lineup of guests and speakers.
