Overview

A key component of managing a successful business is being able to adjust to changes in the market and the business environment. HR professionals play a role in leading organizational change. In order to better match HR strategies with changing business objectives, participants will redefine the role of the HR as a Business Partner. Through collaborative methodologies and data-driven insights, they will acquire the necessary skills to successfully lead HR transformation initiatives that yield long-term business impact and influence stakeholders.

WORKSHOP LEADERS

Eliza Ng

Eliza is a seasoned HR professional with over 30 years of experience in senior executive roles across a variety of industries and companies, including a quango, a US Fortune 500 listed company, an investment bank, and a HK listed IT company. She demonstrates a strong commitment to her professional development, as evidenced by her Master’s degree in Human Resources Development and Training. Thanks to her engagement in organizations for professional practices, Eliza has made a substantial contribution in the HR world and has earned high respect. She is on the Board of Examiners for the HKMA Award for Excellence in Training and Development and a member of the People Development Management Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association. Through her pivotal roles in the Chamber’s Women Executives Club and Manpower Committee, she actively promotes women’s leadership and workforce development.

Eliza is an ATD Certified Trainer, and together with over 20 years of training experience at reputable institutions like the Hong Kong Baptist University, HKMA, Guangzhou College of Technology and Business, Hong Kong College of Technology, and various vocational institutes, she is widely respected in the field.

Eliza is a member of the HKIHRM’s ESG Committee, she holds the Certified ESG Planner CEP® and is dedicated to environmental, social, and governance concerns. Her outstanding leadership abilities have earned her accolades like “Best of the Best HR Star” and “The Most Popular Business Leaders” in 2020. To further advance industry standards and practices, Eliza participates in industry-related activities such as serving as an examination moderator and a judge for different HR awards.

Kenneth Wai

With more than 39 years of experience, Kenneth is a well-recognized and respected veteran of the hospitality industry. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management in addition to a professional qualification in hospitality management. In his last role as Assistant Vice President – Human Resources for the ShangriLa Group, he played a crucial role in HR governance and also, acted as an HR Business Partner for all General Managers in the group.

Throughout his career, Kenneth has excelled in developing people culture, ensuring compliance, implementing HR frameworks, and driving employee engagement strategies. He is passionate about talent development and providing exceptional guest experiences. Additionally, he is dedicated to imparting his knowledge for the longterm prosperity of the industry.

Kenneth’s participation in committees and groups has allowed him to make important contributions to the area. He serves on the Human Resources Development Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association and the Board of Examiners for the HKMA Award for Excellence in Training and Development. Besides, he was the founding member of the Hong Kong Total Quality Forum and the Staffing Sub-Committee of the HKHA Human Resources Committee.
