Advanced Certificate in Practical Development and Implementation of ESG Framework for Business Success

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is becoming more and more important on corporate business agendas. Over 90% business executives acknowledge its importance but less than 60% of business organizations have established effective ESG strategy and framework. There is a strong need for competent ESG professionals to help business organizations to establish cost-effective and practical ESG strategy and framework.

As HKEX prepares for the introduction of new climate-related disclosure mandates from 1 January 2025, business leaders and industry practitioners face a critical challenge. This course is strategically designed to prepare participants for these upcoming disclosure enhancements and equip them to build a robust ESG framework. In addition, with the completion of the ISSB’s two foundational standards – IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 – in 6/2023, participants will also be introduced to these standards.

This specialised course is designed to help participants develop and implement an ESG framework in line with global standards, including those of the ISSB, TCFD and the forthcoming enhanced HKEX ESG requirements. It also offers participants the opportunity to achieve the prestigious Certified ESG Professional (CESGP®) credential through the Institute of ESG & Benchmark (IESGB).

The curriculum outlines four critical pillars as required by HKEX, TCFD and ISSB: governance, strategy, risk management and metrics and targets. These elements are essential to a holistic ESG strategy. Participants will be guided through these ESG requirements and standards, enabling them to make informed decisions on climate-related risks and opportunities.
