The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a new normal where the existing social and business environment has undergone
earth-shaking changes. With the large-scale transition of work to the distance mode, HR executives need to rethink their
traditional way of working and to explore ways to keep people in the organization connected, actively engaged and
productive. Meanwhile, as the new generation of talents enters the workforce, companies must be able to identify future
work trends and re-examine their talent acquisition and development strategies, so as to build employee experience that
features mutual trust, realizes the potential of employees in different generations, and ultimately achieves sustainable
business development.

To encourage organizations to invest in people, the HKMA’s Award for Excellence in Training and Development was
established in 1990 and has so far commended more than 400 outstanding training and development campaigns and
trainers. Over the years, these award-winning organizations and trainers have showcased excellent and comprehensive
training and development programmes while making significant contributions to the nurturing of future leaders for Hong
Kong and the Region.

On behalf of The Hong Kong Management Association, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr Anthony Rushton,
Chairman of the Award Organizing Committee as well as each and every one of its members. I would also like to thank
the Panel of Adjudicators and the Board of Examiners. The success of the award is indebted to your devotion and selfless
efforts. My special gratitude also goes to all the sponsors and media partners for their continuing support during these
challenging times. Finally, may I take this opportunity to thank The Honourable Wong Kam-sing GBS JP, Secretary for the
Environment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, for being the Guest of Honour of the
Award Presentation Ceremony.

My best wishes go to all participating organizations and trainers for their continuous endeavours to uphold professionalism
and pursue excellence in people development.
