Although the COVID epidemic has shaken the global economy, it has also driven the speed of digitization of organizations,
and sparked the demand for digital talents. Faced with the "post-epidemic" new normal, many existing ways of working
and established standards are no longer applicable. The business environment has also undergone fundamental
changes. Companies, regardless of industry and scale, need talents that are agile and capable of leading organizational
transformation. This makes training and development extremely important at this critical moment.

Over the past 31 years, the annual Award for Excellence in Training and Development has witnessed the transformation
of people programmes in response to the changing market landscape. Over time, the Award has grown to become the
most prestigious and respected honour in the training and development profession as well as an all-star platform for top
companies and professionals to exchange training experience and share best practices. I am glad to see lots of new faces
and participants from an ever-widening variety of industries this year, which I believe is clear proof of how the positive
impact of training and development on corporate performance is being increasingly recognized by all organizations.

On behalf of the HKMA, I would like to thank Mr Anthony Rushton, Chairman of the Award Organizing Committee and all
its members. The same goes to the Panel of Adjudicators and the Board of Examiners, for their hard work and dedication in
delivering yet another outstanding edition of the award and upholding its very high standards.

I congratulate all the winners for their outstanding achievements and thank all the entrants for their commitment to people
development. Last but not least I am grateful to our Guest of Honour, The Honourable Wong Kam-sing GBS JP, Secretary for
the Environment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, for sharing with us his insights and
wisdom at the Award Presentation Ceremony.
