We all feel the severity and scope of impact brought by COVID-19 when handshakes and hugs could bring the opposite to their
original good intent. However, in every crisis lies an opportunity. While some companies are struggling to navigate the pandemic,
there are many others flourishing during this hard time, who rethink their strategies and unlock new business opportunities by
connecting with homebound customers in the era of social distancing.
The HKMA aspires to create a platform that allows cross pollination of best marketing practices, and the event today precisely serves
that purpose. Every year, the HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence brings together the movers and shakers in marketing and
inspires us with groundbreaking entries and top marketing trends. These highest accolades represent the intelligence, creativity
and effort of the marketing leaders and professionals in Hong Kong and the Region.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincerest thanks to members of the Panel of Judges, the Board of Examiners, the
Awards Organizing Committee and the Nomination Committee for dedicating their time and expertise to making the Awards such
a great success. My appreciation also goes to Television Broadcasts Limited and all the sponsors for their long-lasting support.
I also would like to express my utmost gratitude to Mr Alfred Sit, JP, Secretary for Innovation and Technology of the Government of
the Hong Kong SAR, for sharing his invaluable thoughts with us as our Guest of Honour at this important occasion.
