When the Awards were first launched 40 years ago, marketing was often regarded as a support function within organizations.
Today, it stands at the heart of business strategy, driving innovation, growth, and customer connection. This journey is mirrored
in the HKMA/ViuTV and Now TV Awards for Marketing Excellence — from modest beginnings to becoming the most respected
platform in Hong Kong for recognizing marketing excellence.
It has been my privilege to witness first-hand passion, creativity, and perseverance of the organizations and marketers every year.
The increasing sophistication of the campaigns submitted testifies to how vital and influential marketing has become.
This influence extends beyond recognition — the Awards serve a unique role in advancing best practices across the profession.
The annual Award Seminar, which consistently attracts a full house of over 600 executives, has become one of the highlight events
in every marketer’s annual calendar — a platform where the profession gathers to learn, exchange ideas, and be inspired by the
most outstanding campaigns.
Along the way, we have been privileged to work closely with a powerful line-up of CEOs and CMOs as the Organizing Committee,
the Board of Examiners and the Panel of Judges, who share a deep passion for marketing. Their commitment and generosity with
their time have enriched the judging process, strengthened the credibility of the Awards, and built a unique community of leaders
united by excellence. Special appreciation must also be given to Mr S K Cheong, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, for his
tireless leadership and steadfast guidance since 2001 — a true pillar of strength for the Awards.
As we celebrate this 40th Anniversary, a series of 40th Anniversary Awards serve not only as special honours, but also as a tribute
to the remarkable journey of the marketing profession. They shine a light on organizations, campaigns, and leaders whose vision
and dedication over the decades have elevated marketing in Hong Kong and inspired generations to pursue excellence.
Behind every milestone lies the dedication of many. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Guest of Honour, Professor
Susanna Hui MH, Executive Director and Group Managing Director of HKT Limited, whose leadership and support exemplify the
values of vision, innovation, and excellence we celebrate tonight. My sincere thanks also go to our Title Sponsors, Special Awards
Title Sponsors, Corporate Sponsors, and Supporting Organizations, whose commitment has sustained and strengthened the
Awards throughout the years.
Congratulations to all winners and participants. Your achievements not only set benchmarks for the profession but also inspire the
next generation to carry the torch of marketing excellence forward.
