Overview
The Diploma is generally considered as a basic qualification for entry into a career in the IT and business industry. The Diploma is also recognised as entry level to Advanced Diploma in Business Information Technology and leads progressively to the BSc Hons Information Technology and Business Information Systems offered by Middlesex University.

The objectives of the programme are to:
- develop essential thinking and study skills in IT and business through a balance of academic and vocational subjects;
- contribute to the development of computer systems and networks, databases and websites in a business context, whilst also developing an awareness of business needs;
- allow you to understand and enter the IT and business profession with the necessary knowledge expected within the industry and the ability to apply the skills to a range of IT-related functions.
The Programme consists of four modules and can be completed in 4-5 months. Classes will be held on weekday evenings and/or weekend.
- Computer Network (30 hours)
- Computer Systems (30 hours)
- Databases (30 hours)
- Designing and Developing a Website (30 hours)
Classes will be held on weekday evenings and/or weekend.
100% course work based. Students will be assessed by a range of assessment tasks such as assignments, projects, quizzes, test, presentation as specified in the module outline.
Students are required to attend at least 70% of the scheduled class meetings, and must pass all four modules in order to be eligible for the award of Diploma in Business Information Technology.

Entry Requirements
- HKDSE with a minimum of 2 subjects at Level 2 and 1 subject in Level 3; or
- HKCEE with 4 subjects attained at Grade E or above, including English Language (Syllabus B) or
- HKAL with at least 1 subject attained at Grade E or above; or
- have successfully completed the Project Yi Jin (毅 進 計 劃) Programme; or
- LCCI Certificate in Business Information Systems or Information Processing Level 3; or
- be aged at 18 or above and completed Form 5 study with at least 1 year’s relevant work experience plus interview, if required.
A good working knowledge of English language is vital and prior computer experience will be an advantage.
